What automaker is more well-known for its trucks than all the others? It’s got to be Ford. As one of the most famous vehicle manufacturers out there, Ford secured its identity in performance cars, affordable sedans, and especially pickup trucks. The F-Series trucks have always been one of the top performing and one of the most popular pickups on the road.
The most famous among the F-series is the F-150, the classic large pickup truck that has been one of the premier everyday workhorses of modern life. But, what about when the F-150 isn’t enough? The F-Series extends to Super Duty with the F-250, F-350, and higher. This segment of the F-Series began all the way back in 1947, then split off in 1998 to become the Ford Super Duty series. The table below shows the years in which each of the Super Duty models were made.
|F-250||F-350||F-450||F-550||F-650 (Medium Duty)||F-750 (Medium Duty)|
|F-250||F-350||F-450||F-450||F-650 (Medium Duty)||F-750 (Medium Duty)|
|F-250||F-350, F-350 Chassis Cab||F-450, F450 Chassis Cab||F-550 Chassis Cab||F-600||N/A|
If the naming scheme of the Super Duty series doesn’t seem as straightforward as it perhaps could, that’s only because of how long Ford has been making large trucks. When shopping for used super duty trucks, you will mostly find the third and fourth generation models on lots. The most common among those will probably be the F-250 and F-350.
